Don't go to the border with a rental car without the company's permission. Even if the license is valid in the European Union and the Schengen borders do not always involve a classic control, the right to use the car outside Romania depends on the contract and the vehicle's documents.
Wise Cars allows travel exclusively in member states of the European Union, with prior approval.
How far in advance must you notify
Request external travel at least **5 working days** in advance. The team must check the car, route and drivers and prepare the proxy.
Do not calculate the term in calendar days if it includes weekends or holidays. Submit your application as early as possible, especially during a busy period.
Power of attorney fee
The fee is **75 EUR** and includes the formalities related to the document. Payment is made by card or bank transfer, according to confirmation; cash is not accepted.
Do not interpret the fee as an automatic approval. Itinerary and booking status must be confirmed in advance.
Which countries can you go to?
Wise Cars only allows EU member states. A European country is not automatically a member of the European Union. Checks the status of the destination and all transited states.
For example, a route to an EU country may pass through a state that is not allowed. Communication must include the route, not just the final destination.
What information are you transmitting?
- the countries visited;
- transited states;
- departure and return dates;
- the drivers who will drive;
- the location of the return;
- possible itinerary changes.
Any driver must be registered and verified. The power of attorney for the car does not authorize a person who is absent from the contract.
What the European guide says

The firm can thus ensure the appropriate documentation, insurance and assistance for the countries visited.
Traffic rules are not the same in all states. The driver should check the limits, equipment, tolls and local requirements.
License and ID
The permit must be valid in the countries visited. For EU permits, the standard categories are recognized in the Union, but an expired or provisional document can cause problems.
Take the driver's license and the original ID or passport. Also keep the vehicle documents provided by Wise Cars.
Insurance and protection
It does not assume that a protection chosen for Romania applies identically in any external situation. Confirmed terms and contract rules follow.
Report an incident immediately. If you are not injured, the first step is to contact Wsaid Cars. If the situation is serious, contact the competent authorities and then the team.
Kilometers and route
Exiting the EU does not remove the mileage limit. Protection can include 100 km/day, 200 km/day or unlimited. Calculate round-trip distance, local travel and a margin.
Unlimited kilometers does not mean unlimited countries. The list of permitted countries remains exclusively EU.
Road and parking fees
The driver must inform himself about vignettes, bridges, highways and restricted access areas. Do not buy a vignette for an incorrectly entered registration number.
Keep the evidence and check the official sources of each country. A blog cannot replace the updated rules of the authorities.
What happens if you change the route
Contact Wise Cars before entering a state that has not been notified. Do not change the external route based on a spontaneous decision without reconfirmation.
