An accident is a stressful situation. The first goal is the safety of people, not protecting the program or avoiding an unpleasant conversation. Once the immediate situation is under control, Wise Cars must be informed quickly in order to be able to provide the instructions applicable to the car and the contract.
This article is a general guide, it does not replace the directions of the authorities, emergency services or the contract.
If there are injured persons or danger
Contact the emergency services and competent authorities immediately. Follow their instructions, secure the area as much as you can without risk, and do not move injured people unless there is immediate danger and authorities indicate so.
After notifying the authorities, contact Wise Cars as soon as possible.
If you are not injured and the situation is not serious
The first step is to notify Wise Cars. The agent explains what needs to be done depending on the place, participants and the condition of the car.
Do not make contractual decisions, promise payments or drive an unsafe car before you are instructed.
Useful information for the call
Prepare:
- name and reservation number;
- exact location;
- if there are injured;
- the number of vehicles involved;
- the apparent condition of the car;
- if the road is blocked;
- data of the contacted authority;
- a number you can answer.
Be specific. Don't minimize or exaggerate.
Photos and documents
If safe and permitted, photograph the position of vehicles, damage, surroundings and relevant items. Don't expose yourself to traffic to get a photo.
Keeps issued or completed documents. Do not sign a text you do not understand and do not change the information later.
Do not repair the car yourself
Do not go to a service of your choice and do not order parts without the approval of Wise Cars. Even a seemingly simple repair may require specific documentation, assessment and procedures.
Do not use improvisations to continue on the road if safety is affected.
Don't leave the place without clarifying your obligations
Obligations depend on the situation and the instructions of the authorities. Contact Wise Cars and follow the legal procedure. Just because the damage seems minor doesn't mean you can ignore the documentation.
What happens with protection
The application of the protection depends on the chosen option, the contract, the driver behind the wheel and compliance with the procedures. Zero deposit does not mean that any prohibited action, use or omission is accepted.
An unauthorized driver, failure to report the incident or lack of required documents can affect the contractual situation.
If the incident takes place in another EU state
Contact your local authorities and Wise Cars. Keep the vehicle documents and the documents received for the trip. Local rules may differ.
The output ofn Romania must have been approved before. Power of attorney and external authorization do not replace the obligation to report the accident.
If the car can no longer be driven
Don't try to continue. Tell the agent where the car is and follow the instructions for assistance or transportation. Do not leave the key and documents in an unsafe place.
The availability of a replacement car depends on location, period and situation and should not be automatically assumed.
Minor incident in the parking lot
A scratch or bump in the parking lot must be reported. If the author is not present, do not conclude that there is nothing left to do. Contact Wise Cars for the steps.
On return
A reported incident does not eliminate verification. He hands over the documents and explains the timeline. Don't wait for the return for the first ad; notification must be made when the event occurs.
Keep contact number
Save your Wise Cars data before you leave. In a stressful situation, you don't want to search through emails. Also check who the authorized drivers are.
