The flight number is not a pointless formality. We use it to track your actual arrival time and organize around your trip.
A plane may arrive earlier than the scheduled time or accumulate a delay of several hours. If we have the correct flight number, we see the change and adjust. You don't have to send us repeated messages from the airport of departure and you don't have to guess when to announce the delay.
It is important to enter the full and correct flight number in the booking. If you have a stopover, we are interested in the flight that actually lands in Cluj-Napoca, not the first segment of the journey.
What do you do immediately after landing
After the plane has landed, wait until you can leave the aircraft and reach the arrivals area. If you have checked baggage, you can pick it up before contacting us.
Please let us know as soon as you are ready to leave the terminal. In the message or on the phone, it is enough to tell us the name of the reservation and the fact that you have arrived. The meeting takes place in the Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport parking lot. You don't have to look for a Wise Cars counter in the terminal or go to Dezmir alone.
After confirming the reservation, you will receive specific instructions for the meeting. A Wise Cars agent coordinates you and the shuttle is normally already ready for your arrival. In very busy slots there may be a short wait, but flight tracking helps us reduce it as much as possible.
We do not recommend taking a taxi from the airport to our car park without first talking to the agent. Shuttle pickup is included and the meeting must be coordinated so the team knows exactly where you are.
How the free shuttle works
The shuttle picks you up from the airport parking lot and takes you to our work point in Dezmir, on Strada Trandafirilor. Wise Cars has its own office and parking here, with quick access from the Cluj belt.
The journey takes about 4–5 minutes under normal conditions. The transfer is free both when picking up and returning the car.
We chose this organization so that the formalities take place in a dedicated space, near the car, without the crowd in the terminal. The agent can do the inspection with you, explain the car's functions and answer any questions before you hit the road.
What documents must you have with you?
Before confirming the reservation we ask for copies of the driver's license and the identity card or passport. These documents help us to verify the identity, date of birth and age of the license and prepare the booking correctly.
You must present the original documents upon collection. Previously submitted photos are not a substitute for your license and physical ID.
For total freedom in choosing the type of protection, the general rule is the minimum age of 23 years and at least 3 years of driving license. Additional rules apply to drivers under 23 or over 69 and no deposit rental is available. The minimum requirement for a driver under 23 is at least 2 years of experience.
If your situation does not fit the general rule, it is better to send us the correct data from the start. The team checks eligibility before considering the booking confirmed.
How long does it take to hand over the car
After arriving at the work point, we check the original documents, go through the contract, confirm the chosen services and do the inspection of the car together. See fuel level, vehicle condition and important driving information.
The complete rental process takes, on average, about 15 minutes, including the shuttle transfer. If the documents have been submitted correctly before, the booking data is complete and there are no last-minute changes, the handover can proceed very quickly.
You can see the cars available in the Wise Cars fleet ahead of time, but the reservation is made for the chosen model or a similar one in the same class. Final confirmation is sent after checking availability by the team.
Is credit card mandatory?
Not. Wise Cars does not condition the rental on the existence of a credit card. Payment can be made by card or bank transfer, and cash is not accepted.
The amount of the deposit depends on the car, the driver profile and the selected protection. For eligible variants, the Premium Plus package can have a zero deposit. The booking system shows you the options available for the selected dates and car, so you can check the total before confirming.

What you need to know about fuel
Wise Cars uses the same-to-same policy. You receive the car with a certain level of fuel and return it with the same level. The tank does not have to be full if you did not receive it full.
The level is checked at the time of delivery. For a hassle-free experience, look at the indicator before you leave and ask the agent if you have any questions about how much the car should be returned.
How to return to Cluj Airport
At the end of the rental, bring the car to the Wise Cars point in Dezmir, at the time specified in the reservation. The agent checks the car, documents and fuel level, then the free shuttle takes you to the terminal.
The return journey takes, on average, about 10 minutes including transfers, but this time should not be treated as a guarantee that you can reach the airport at the last minute. Traffic, congestion, airline formalities and security control are not dependent on the rental company.
We recommend that you schedule your return so that you arrive at the terminal at least 2 hours and 30 minutes before take-off. The required margin before the flight is your responsibility, so take into account the recommendations of the airline.
Can you return the car in another city?
Yes. The car can be returned to another city where Wise Cars is based for a relocation fee. The cost differs depending on the route and is displayed in the booking system for the selected locations.
It is important to choose the actual return location from the beginning. Change of city after confirmation is subject to operational availability and must be accepted by the team.
